The Stewardship Committee will lead morning worship this Sunday, November 11th at 10:30am. A Stewardship Luncheon will following in the fellowship hall.
Join us on Wednesday nights at 6:15pm for the last two sessions of Bible Study. We will provide a light dinner and Mat is leading a study of the 12 apostles. We are studying the lives of simple fishermen—Peter, Andrew, James, and John—who changed the world with the good news about Jesus as well as studying Matthew, the tax collector, Simon the zealot, Thomas the doubter, and Judas, the betrayer. (Please let us know if you will need childcare.)
VERSE OF THE DAY: He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and
the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might
have the supremacy.
-- Colossians 1:18
The Leland Presbyterian Church provides many opportunities for spiritual growth and service through fellowship for people of all ages. Junior High and Senior High Fellowship groups meet weekly. Youth are active in local fund raisers, retreats, and conferences both at Montreat, N.C. and Camp Hopewell (Oxford, MS). Two women’s circles meet monthly for study and worship. The Men of the Church meet quarterly for the men’s dinner and also try take a trip to south Louisiana each fall for fishing. Perhaps the most essential and energetic group in the Leland Presbyterian Church is the Presbyterian Women. They were the driving force behind its founding nearly a century ago, and have played an indispensable role in the mission of the church ever since. Our church and community are both better places because of their caring and dedication.
